Over 32,000 burglaries have taken place across Britain’s capital in the last 12 months alone. With the average insurance claim totalling £3,000, it’s never been more important to keep your home protected from potential intruders.

A recent survey studied break-ins across London and found that these are the most burgled boroughs in the city. Does your local area make it onto the list?

  1. Barnet
  2. Haringey
  3. Enfield
  4. Kensington & Chelsea
  5. Camden
  6. Islington
  7. Brent
  8. Harrow
  9. Hammersmith & Fulham
  10. Westminster

If your hometown is on this burglary hit list, it might be time to start taking the proper steps to better protect your most valuable asset: your home. There are many ways you can help prevent a break-in from occurring:

1. Get to know your neighbours, and form or join a neighbourhood watch group, so you can all look out for one another when it comes to keeping your streets safe.

2. Keep lights and a radio or TV turned on if you’re away for long periods of time, so potential thieves don’t think your home is empty.

3. Build a Ring of Security around your house with the Ring Video Doorbell, just like Paul did.

Paul installed a Video Doorbell at his home in Harrow and was alerted to these men breaking into his car. Luckily, he received a Ring notification and was able to warn them off before they could drive away, and now police are investigating the case.
