Recently, we announced the release of our Ring Video Doorbell app in both the App Store and Google Play Stores. Many have communicated that their Doorbot is not functioning well with the Ring app.

A little while back, we sent out a beta firmware to some of our Doorbot beta testers who kindly volunteered to test the latest firmware and report back on their experiences. After carefully reviewing their feedback, we decided that the firmware version was not ready for prime time.

As such, Doorbot’s current firmware is not currently compatible with the Ring app, so please continue to use the Doorbot app with your Doorbot. Our developers are in the final stages of testing Doorbot’s newest firmware version, which will allow the device to work properly with the Ring app.

We wanted to clear any confusion around the issues you may be experiencing when using your Doorbot through the Ring app, and will send out an update as soon as Doorbot’s firmware becomes compatible with the Ring app.
