Peace of Mind with Ring Video Doorbell
By Nick on September 23, 2016
In the case of a crime, Ring Video Doorbell captures important footage and evidence that can assist local enforcement to quickly locate and arrest those criminals. Although Ring is great for identifying a package thief or a suspected burglar, it can also come in handy in ways we did not ever expect. Here’s a powerful story from one of our customers on how Ring Video Doorbell provides peace of mind for her and her family on a daily basis.
“I am now a 15 year teenager who was sexually assaulted at age 12. I am sharing my story with you not for your pity, money or publicity, but to raise awareness of pedophiles, sexual assault and how “Ring” helped me and my family find some piece of comfort knowing that we are going to be okay and if the pedophile violated his restraining order, we would have evidence with the “Ring”.
On April 24, 2014, my mother was taking a shower when I was sexually assaulted in my home in my living room (90% of rapes will be perpetrated by acquaintances)!
I was afraid to leave my house for fear of running into him. I couldn’t even take my dog on walks! Through all the countless hours of not sleeping or crying myself to sleep and being so scared he was going to come back to my house, I would lock myself in my room and listen to August Alsina because no security monitoring company would install cameras at a condo. That’s when we found “Ring.”
People don’t like talking about this subject because it’s too personal and they believe no one will believe them. But they are wrong . Every 109 seconds, an American is sexually assaulted and every 8 minutes, that victim is a child. 1 in 5 women experience some form of sexual assault and 1 in 33 men are victims of attempted or complete rape. Only 6 out of every 1,000 perpetrators will serve any prison time to lack of evidence. “Ring” gives you the ability to save videos and send videos.
Through my pain, I want to help another girl or boy, young or adult, know how to regain their confidence and self worth from a tragic event. What has happened to me will never go away but Ring Video Doorbell has given me and my family [the peace] to leave our house and live a normal life. Ring has also given me serenity because I can check who all has been at my door.
There are so many great organizations and advocates throughout the country that will help victims through this. I want to thank the ones from Colorado that have helped me in this journey:
