“Ring Helped Save My House From a Break-in”
By Ring on July 26, 2021
It started out as a normal day for Nadine, who lives in San Antonio, Texas — until she left her house to go pick up her kids. About 10 minutes after she left, she got an alert from Ring that there was motion inside the house. Her Ring Alarm Security System was going off, but she knew nobody was supposed to be there.
“I looked at my phone to see what was going on,” she recalls.
While requesting help through the Ring App, she received a call from the Ring Monitoring Center1 at the same time, asking if she wanted the police to respond. When Nadine agreed, they immediately requested police assistance.
When she was on the phone with the Ring Monitoring Center, she got a motion alert from her Ring Video Doorbell and pulled up Live View.
“Right as that happened, I looked down and the man was running out my front door,” she says. “The alarm scared him off.”
Nadine continued to stay on Live View on her Ring Video Doorbell as she waited for the police to arrive and communicated with them using Two-Way Talk.
The next morning, Nadine passed along her Ring Video Doorbell footage of the incident to the police. She was so impressed with the video quality that she even bought two Ring Security Cameras that same day to expand her home security.
“After we were broken into, I realized that it was important to add more Ring products to our home,” Nadine says.
Easy to Set Up and Install
Nadine installed her home security system herself. “It was much easier than I anticipated,” she says. “You pop it out of the box and scan the little QR code on the back.”
Everything you need is in the box, no extra tools required. Simply plug in the Ring Alarm Base Station, connect your sensors, and control it all with the keypad or from the Ring App.
“Ring Alarm is very easy to use,” Nadine adds. “I love that it allows you to give guest access to people if you have someone coming to do some work for you, or somebody from out of town.”
Flexible Options for Every Home and Budget
With the Ring Alarm Security System, you can choose what you need, or add over time. And with kits starting at just $199.99, you’ll get award-winning security at an affordable price. You can also enroll in the same 24/7 professional monitoring that Nadine got with a Ring Protect subscription.
When Nadine added Ring Security Cameras to her home security system, it was easy for her to connect it to her other Ring devices. Just like Nadine, you can easily connect Ring Alarm to other Ring devices and select Alexa-enabled devices to do even more with your home security. Nadine likes using her Echo Show to check her Ring Video Doorbell and Security Cameras.
“If I’m cooking or helping the kids with homework or doing anything that has my hands busy, I can just ask Alexa to open it up,” Nadine says. “I go, ‘Hey Alexa, show me my Ring Video Doorbell.’”
