Here at Ring, we’re committed to constantly improving the Ring experience and helping our Neighbors get the most out of their home security. We’ve listened to all your feedback, and we’re happy to announce a few new features that promise to make protecting your home even easier than before.
See below for a list of all the new features in the Ring App, and tap the links to learn more.
New Custom App Alerts
Choose a unique mobile alert for each of your Rings, so you’ll always know exactly where the alert is coming from. In addition to new tones, you can also choose a phrase that you’ll hear whenever your Ring Video Doorbell or Cam is triggered. For example, you can choose an alert that says “Motion at your Floodlight Cam” whenever there’s activity in your yard.
You can easily choose and change your alerts in the “App Alert Tones” section of your Device Dashboard. To learn more about your new app alerts, see this article.
Motion Alert Snooze
Want some peace and quiet for a couple hours? Just like the snooze button on your alarm clock, Ring’s new Motion Snooze feature lets you disable your alerts for a specific period of time – anywhere between 15 minutes and two hours. Now, when the pets are playing outside, you don’t have to worry about getting alerts!
Select your device in your Ring App dashboard, and tap “Motion Snooze” to set your timers. To learn more, tap here.
Chime Alert Snooze
Just like the motion alerts for your Ring Video Doorbells and Cams, you can now snooze the alerts from your Ring Chime!
Choose your Chime in the Ring app, and select “Chime Snooze” to set your timers. Tap here to learn more.
We got a lot of feedback about how you receive notifications while browsing the Ring App. Now, instead of a video automatically loading when activity is detected, you can choose to answer or dismiss the event right from your App.
Simply tap the in-app notification to launch a live video feed of the event that’s happening. To dismiss the notification, simply tap the “X” at the top of the window.
