Ring Closes on Series B Financing, Richard Branson Leads Round

By Yassi Shahmiri on August 19, 2015

We started as a company of 4 in a garage 4 years ago. We then grew to a company of 10 in a warehouse, struggling to fill out the offices in the new space. Last week, our team moved over to the brand new, double-in-size office space and today marks another landmark for Ring: a successful Series B Financing Round that Sir Richard BransonAmerican Family Insurance, and Shea Ventures lead. True VenturesUpfront Ventures, and Sky Dayton also participated in the round that totals $28 million dollars at a $60 million valuation.

With a mission to reduce crime in communities and investors who share our vision, we’re ready to look beyond just the doorbell.  We’ve seen what an impact a smart doorbell with a camera, two-way audio, and motion sensors can make. We’ve seen how this little smart doorbell that was invented out of sheer need has stopped at least one break-in from occurring each day. Now, we’re ready to take it to the next level. We’re more focused and honed in on our mission than ever, and ready to see how we can improve the lives of households and secure neighborhoods all around the world. With more security-centric features and products, we can deliver a true ring of security for homes and neighborhoods.
