The New Ring Video Doorbell 4 Shows You Even More of What Happens at Your Front Door

By Ring on April 7, 2021

Last year we introduced Pre-Roll, a unique feature that we invented for battery-powered video doorbells. And today we take it to the next level with the new Ring Video Doorbell 4 that’s packed with the latest features that help improve security and make answering the door more convenient.

With the Ring Video Doorbell 4, you’ll never miss a detail—day or night. Like all Ring Video Doorbells, it sends you a notification when it detects motion or someone presses the button, and you can see, hear, and speak with visitors in crystal clear 1080p HD video. But the new Ring Video Doorbell 4 can do even more. The upgraded doorbell camera allows you to see up to 4 additional seconds of video Pre-Roll from before the motion event was triggered, and now it’s in color—yet another first for a wireless video doorbell. With video previews of all motion events, you’ll always know what’s happening at your front door. And improved battery life will help your device stay up and running for longer.*

We’ve also made it easier to answer your door—even when you have your hands full. If you’re not home, in the middle of helping the kids, or busy cooking dinner, Ring Quick Replies can do it for you. Just choose one of the six preset responses that will play automatically when someone presses the doorbell button. Or, if you do open the Live View, but don't want to talk, you can manually select one of the replies right from the Ring App.

Your Doorbell, Your Way

In addition to the upgrades, we’ve made sure the Ring Video Doorbell 4 includes the same helpful features you already love about our doorbell cameras, so that you can customize it to your personal preferences. You can adjust where your device detects motion to focus on key areas so you're only getting the alerts you care about with the Customizable Motions Zones.

When you subscribe to Ring Protect, your doorbell will work even harder thanks to advanced features like People Only Mode, so you only receive alerts when your device spots a person. Or with Rich Notifications, you can see exactly what triggered an alert with a photo preview right in the notification without opening the Ring App.

And with the subscription, you can share your Ring videos with your family and friends, as well as with your community via the Neighbors App. You can also review events that you missed for up to 1801 days.

Plus, with the Ring Video Doorbell 4, you can get the look you want. It comes with one faceplate in our classic Satin Nickel color, and after you install your new device, you’ll receive a code for a free faceplate on Ring.com. Choose from 16 fashionable colors to match your taste and style.

Ring Video Doorbell 4 is now available for pre-order on Ring.com and Amazon.com for $199.99 and will start shipping on April 28.
