School’s Out, Safety’s In: Your Guide to a Memorable Summer
By Ring on June 11, 2025
School's out and summer is finally here! As backpacks get tossed aside and summer adventures begin, Ring devices are ready to capture the magic (and sometimes the mishaps) of summer break. Whether it's learning a new skill or attempting the "world's greatest" trick shot, these are the moments that make summer unforgettable. Check out some of the ways Ring is capturing summer memories – proving that sometimes the best entertainment happens right in your own backyard.
Backyard Battle: Dad vs. Son
No pool? No problem! Watch as David and his 5-year-old son turn a summer afternoon into an epic water balloon showdown, all caught on their Ring Outdoor Cam. “I am the founder of a dad group in my city called ‘Hang'n With Dad,'” David says, "So these moments are things I'm constantly trying to create with my son as an example for other dads to be involved with their kids."
One in a Million Shot
When 12-year-old Noah and his brother Elijah were playing in the pool, their Ring camera captured what their dad, John, calls a "one in a million" shot. Watch as Noah attempts the impossible – a bounce shot from behind the basket that had to hit the backboard just perfectly to roll in. "I didn't believe it until Noah told me to check camera playback," John says. "I was shocked!"
Bicycle Victory
Some summer moments are worth remembering forever – like six-year-old Alister's first ride without training wheels! "My husband decided to take the training wheels completely off that morning," mom, Alexis, recalls, "and poof… he took off!"
Mom is Always Watching
They say mothers have eyes in the back of their heads, but with Ring, they've got eyes everywhere! When Kamber had to quickly use the restroom, her daughter decided to slip out the front door. Luckily, Kamber was alerted on the Ring App and used Two-Way Talk to tell her daughter to come back inside. "This video makes me laugh, but [I'm] thankful I have a Ring camera," Kamber explains.
Unexpected Backyard Visitor
While Neveah was lost in her music on the backyard swing, Ring alerted her mom, Stacy, to an unusual visitor – a curious bear approaching just feet away! Stacy called her daughter to let her know of the danger nearby. "They stared at each other for a bit, while we were on the phone, and he turned around and walked away. It was wild," recalls Stacy.
Learning Moments Behind the Wheel
Watch as Blake's quick trip for milk becomes an unexpected driving lesson. Even though he had noticed he was blocked in moments before, he still managed to push a parked car right into the street! Thankfully, the only damage was to a license plate. As his dad Jeremy says, "Blake is OK and learned a valuable lesson that day."
Summer is a time for new adventures, whether they are big or small. Ring is ready to capture all the moments that makes this season special. Have a favorite summer memory captured on your Ring device? We'd love to see it! Share your story by sending us an email at stories@ring.com.
