Jeff Zavala – Community Support Manager

He’s charging our Support Team onward!

Tell us about your role here at Ring.
I manage the Support team – about 45 employees both remote and on-site. I manage the call times, call cues, make sure everyone is on the same page. I started working here at Ring on March 24, 2014 as a Community Support Agent and worked my way up to the Community Support Manager position. Occasionally, I travel on-site to our customer’s home to troubleshoot or assist with installation.

Favorite place to hang out in Los Angeles?
Havana house – it’s a cigar lounge/bar in Alhambra, CA.

Off the clock – what are you doing?
I’m still working…but during my free time, I’m spending time with my niece and girlfriend. And of course, I try to go to the Havana house at least once a month. Also, catching up on football – I’m a HUGE Steelers fan.

Of the multitude of customers you assist, any memorable interactions?
Yes, I had the opportunity to assist LeVar Burton from Reading Rainbow in setting up his Ring Video Doorbell and Chime. It was interesting/memorable because he was one of the first celebrities I’d helped! I also worked with Miguel (Jontel Pimentel) back when we had Doorbot.

What’s one thing about that many people don’t know about?
That I smoke cigars.

Besides the Ring App (of course), what’s your favorite App and why?
Instagram – I like taking pictures! One of my favorite accounts I’m following is Antonio Brown, wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
