What Ring is Doing to Support LA Wildfire Relief and Recovery
By Ring on January 21, 2025
Over the last two weeks, we’ve all seen how the devastating wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles have impacted the places, people, and communities we love. We’ve also seen the resilience and unity Angelenos have shown in the face of this crisis. At Ring, we often talk about the power of neighbors helping neighbors. In these challenging times, we're seeing just this —from first responders risking their lives on the front lines to residents opening their homes to shelter displaced families and pets.
As a company founded and based in Los Angeles, we feel a profound responsibility to support our city in its time of need. Many of our team members call Los Angeles home, and we're committed to doing everything we can to aid in the relief efforts of these ongoing fires and support the rebuilding process.
This blog post will be updated regularly with information about how we’re supporting our communities, customers, and employees. Please check back for more information in the coming days.
For Our Community
As part of Amazon’s $10 million commitment to wildfire relief, Ring is taking immediate action by donating a total of $1 million to organizations at the forefront of wildfire relief efforts. These funds will be distributed to:
On January, 31, 2025, we will reopen our original Santa Monica offices to support our partner organizations and their work in providing relief efforts in Los Angeles. The Ring Community Hub will serve as a multi-purpose space and over the course of the next six months, we'll work with our partner organizations to mobilize this space, offering meaningful opportunities that provide helpful resources and services to our community, including creating volunteer opportunities and ways for Ring and Amazon teams to get involved as needed. Some examples may include: working with the LA Chamber of Commerce to provide the space to organize job fairs, partnering with the American Red Cross to coordinate blood drives, and building hygiene kits for those in need.
We're also facilitating employee volunteerism and donations, setting up collection points for critical items at our offices across LA. These actions are just the beginning of our commitment to supporting Los Angeles through this crisis and beyond, and we will have more to share soon.
For Our Customers
To assist those who’ve been impacted, we’re providing a $50 subscription credit that will be automatically added to your account, available for use at your next renewal. The credit is to help ensure you have time to download important video footage during this challenging time without worrying about subscription renewal costs.
We recognize that the impact of these wildfires will be long-lasting, and our efforts to support our community will evolve as needs change. We encourage those who are able to join us in supporting the organizations mentioned above or to seek out local volunteer opportunities. Together, we can demonstrate what it means to be a good neighbor and help Los Angeles emerge stronger than ever.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by the wildfires.
From all of us at Ring, we're in this together.
