Introducing The Ring Appstore: Ring Cameras Just Got Smarter

By Ring on March 31, 2026

For years, we’ve been impressed with the practical and creative ways customers use their Ring devices beyond traditional security — from keeping an eye on a storefront after hours to checking on pets while away. These real-world uses have helped guide how we continue building new products for our customers. Today, we’re excited to announce that the Ring Appstore, a new experience inside the Ring app that gives customers more ways to use their existing Ring videos, is now rolling out to Ring subscribers.

What is the Ring Appstore?

The Ring Appstore unlocks new ways for customers to get more from existing Ring devices, available directly in the Ring app or at Ring.com for U.S. customers with a Ring subscription. Because every home and business is different — with unique routines, priorities, and needs — the Ring Appstore gives you the flexibility to choose apps that work for your life.

Apps in the Ring Appstore are built by either Ring or third-party developers to offer customers apps to make the day easier. Together, these apps can use AI to turn your existing devices into tools that provide timely alerts and actionable insights. Ring can now let you know whether you need to clean your pool at home or get an alert at your cafe when your line is getting long and you need to call in extra help, letting you focus your time and attention elsewhere.

We built the Ring Appstore around choice. You decide which apps you want, what they keep an eye on, and when they alert you — so your Ring experience is shaped entirely around your life, not the other way around. Every app in the Ring Appstore goes through a review process, so what you find there is vetted, purposeful, and built to do one thing well: make your day a little easier.

The Ring Appstore Makes Your Home Even Smarter

Ring Appstore apps are designed to help make it easier to manage all the tasks and things you’re already keeping track of every day. Our early partners are building apps to make it easier to act on what needs to be done — or simply find extra peace of mind — at home. Some of our early apps include ones that help with:

  • Pet Care: Keep an eye on your pets throughout the day — from checking-in on them while you’re at work to getting a heads-up about behavior that seems out of the ordinary.
  • Home Analytics: Receive useful insights about activity around your home over time — like package delivery notices, alerts when it's time to clean your pool, and unusual animal activity in your yard.
  • Elder Care: Let you check in on aging family members using your existing Ring cameras, with alerts for when caretakers arrive and unusual activity patterns so you can feel confident about their wellbeing even when you’re not there.
  • These are just the beginning. In the coming months and years, customers will see more apps designed to support everyday needs and the unique requirements of every home, making your Ring devices work smarter and harder for you.

Business Tools That Work as Hard as You Do

Small business owners are already using Ring cameras to help keep an eye on their operations. The Ring Appstore now makes managing your business simpler by automating certain processes and offering tools that have traditionally been out of reach for small businesses — with the benefit of choosing which apps work best for their needs.

One key use case we hear often is rental property management. Apps help hosts stay informed about property activity, get check-in and check-out alerts, and keep guests and staff on the same page — all from the Ring app. The Ring Appstore also offers various business analytics apps that storefronts, cafes, and restaurants more easily watch for long lines, workplace safety, and after-hours security, freeing up the owners to focus on all the other important work that goes into running a business.

Each business owner can choose and manage only the apps that work for their needs, helping small business owners save time by focusing their attention on what matters most.

Ring Cheer Chime: Turn Every Tip Into a Celebration

We’re excited about our partnership with Toast, the leading restaurant point of sale management system. Through Ring Cheer Chime — our first-party Toast integration available in the Ring Appstore — restaurants and small businesses can create better experiences for both staff and guests by connecting Ring devices with their front-of-house operations.

Ring Cheer Chime will start rolling out to small businesses in the coming weeks, beginning with a special event at Holy Roly Ice Cream in Los Angeles, with more details to come.

Built by Experts, for Your Specific Needs

Ring’s focus has always been on building reliable, high-quality camera technology. With the Ring Appstore, we’re extending that foundation by enabling third-party developers to build specialized apps for our cameras. This approach allows customers to choose the apps that are most relevant to their needs, while enabling third-party developers with deep expertise to provide customers with a broader range of specialized solutions. All within the Ring experience that customers already know and trust.

    Welcome to the Neighborhood, Devs
