Ring Makes Retinal 2K the Standard Across its Outdoor Camera Lineup

By Ring on May 13, 2026

Ring is introducing the next generation of its outdoor security cameras — Ring Spotlight Cam (2nd Gen)* and Ring Floodlight Cam (2nd Gen). Both cameras deliver 2K video resolution, representing meaningful additions to Ring’s outdoor camera lineup and expanding Retinal 2K video quality to a more accessible price point compared to Ring’s previous cameras. With these additions, Ring now offers 2K video resolution as an entry point across its entire camera portfolio. The new devices start at $169.99 in the US and are available for pre-order today.

Flexible Power, Sharper Video: Spotlight Cam (2nd Gen)

Ring Spotlight Cam (2nd Gen)* features a dual-chamber battery design, giving customers more flexible power management and is now compatible with the Quick Release Ultra Battery Pack (sold separately).

The camera delivers 2K video resolution, capturing faces and activity with greater clarity. A 550 lumens spotlight provides enhanced brightness for improved nighttime visibility and deterrence.

Maximum Coverage, Maximum Clarity: Floodlight Cam (2nd Gen)

Ring Floodlight Cam (2nd Gen) pairs Retinal 2K video resolution with 2000-lumen floodlight illumination to cover expansive outdoor areas including driveways, backyards, and garages.

The upgrade from 1080p to Retinal 2K provides an improvement in clarity across the camera’s full field of view, in both daytime and nighttime conditions.

Both cameras represent Ring’s continued investment in making 2K video quality available at accessible price points.
