A Neighbor’s Compassion Leads A Lost Pet Back Home

One afternoon while Neighbors user Konane went about his day, he stumbled upon Coco, a beautiful brown Lab/Pitbull mix, standing in his driveway. It was evident that Coco had lost her way and needed help reuniting with her owner.

Knowing that someone out there was likely missing their beloved pet, Konane wasted no time trying to locate Coco’s family. He noticed that Coco was wearing a tag that provided vaccination information and her local vet. Upon further investigation, the vet's records revealed that the number was registered to a different dog — one that had passed away three years prior. Undeterred, Konane turned to the dog's microchip for further clues, only to find out that the provided phone number was incorrect. Still, he refused to give up! He decided to distribute flyers throughout the neighborhood with the hope that Coco’s owners would reach out — but no one turned up looking for the precious pup.

Hoping to cast a wider net in search for Coco’s owners, Konane turned to the Neighbors App, where he'd seen countless lost pets reunited with their owners. He shared a Lost Pet Post and reassured concerned neighbors that Coco was being well taken care of. Little did he know, this simple act would set in motion a heartwarming reunion.

With a mixture of relief and gratitude, Coco’s owner saw the post on the Neighbors App and commented “Thats my girl coco!” Konane and Coco’s owner connected offline and arranged a time to meet. Ironically, Konane and his wife lived only three doors down from Coco and her owner. Happy to have facilitated the reunion, Konane updated his post writing “UPDATE: Reunited with her family! Thank you Ring!”
